The problem is solved. But in a weird way. I deleted the installation (FTP version). I couldn't install the latest version from Installatron, so I installed the last 4.x.x version through that service. That one worked. After that, I upgraded to the latest 5.x.x version through the Joomla backend. And since then everything works.
